I'm a real knitter now!

With the last bit of my September "allowance" I ordered this lovely wonder (with a lovely 50% coupon from JoAnn.com it was only $29.99!!!!).

We only wound a bit of the sock yarn. I didn't want to wind it all at once and then have to order more just to have something to wind!

Today's Socktoberfest sock is the second green and pink Trekking sock. Apologies for the blurry photo.

I have plans to do a bit of "sock-istory" this month, a la Lolly's post of today. Stay tuned!

I always love to see your monthly lists. If I had that many projects at the same time, I don't think I'd be able to sleep at night. You're amazing for managing them all! It must come from your teaching and keeping track of all your students at once.

I'm admiring your husband's motivation in the previous post. Mine is pretty good overall, but he'd be even better if Lowe's offered the stuff at a big half-price sale. *Then* I'd see renovations galore. He loves a good sale. :)

  2. What a grand trip to Lowes!! Just like the commercials where the husband offers to take the truck when the wife says she is "going shopping - - - to Lowe's"!!
I bought the sock book you suggested - - -oh my, I really have to sit down and seriously read it! There are some beautiful sock patterns in there, but I am SUCH a beginner when it comes to reading patterns!! I WILL do this however - it is just too fun looking to resist!!

  3. Swifts and ball-winders are addictive! Such yummy little yarn cakes are irresistible. :-)

  4. haha. a swift! almost makes you wonder if the assistance it provides in expediting the yarn winding process begets its name.
