It's NOT a Gift! 2.0

Apologies for not getting this up yesterday - we discovered last night that my computer has a short in the screen, so I am having to share with hubbo. I miss my laptop! (and most importantly, my couch!) Here we go....

The "Rules"
* Knit something for yourself during the months of January and February.
* "Something" really means anything - an old UFO, mitts, a sweater, socks, etc. Whatever YOU want. After all, it's NOT a gift! right?
* Let me know what you're going to knit - or if you're going to knit several things, choose one, or the first one.
* I'll list everyone in the sidebar (over there under the sock picture with the little tag that says "It's NOT a Gift!") with a link to their blog (if they have one) and the item they're working on.
* You can join even if you don't have a blog - just leave me comments or email me with pictures if you want.
* I'll check in on those with blogs during the week, but you can leave me a comment if you finish something, or want to tell me about a new project!
* I'll post updates on Saturdays.
* You certainly are "allowed" to knit gifts, but you should knit something for you! It's time to be selfish! :)

Please let me know if you have questions. I think I've got most of your blogs bookmarked in my bloglines, but if you're not sure, feel free to leave a comment and I can double check. I'll get the first update up next weekend, but you can start knitting for yourself anytime! I will try to get y'all listed in the sidebar in the next few days, but mom and dad arrive tonight, the house is a disaster, and did I mention I don't have a computer! Argh!

Happy Knitting!

Oh yes yes yes yes yes, I'll play!!! I'm still working on finishing my Christmas 2006 gifts . . . . but I did cast-on some socks for me on Christmas morning with new sock yarn Santa brought!! That will be my first project - I'm also starting the Bejeweled KAL on New Year's Day and that will be for me also. And I'm sure I'll throw in a few more, I've got a bunch of greedy "for me" WIPs I need to finish off. :)

  11. I'm so there. I'll start with my long-neglected Denim Aran Cardigan. But I reserve the right to add as many things for me as I want!

  12. Me too! Me too! I'm starting with a matching moebius and hat (it's winter in New England, and I somehow do not own a hat), then the plan is to finish Samus for myself, and then maybe socks or the Ribby Cardi or something else entirely. Or maybe I'll deviate from plan and head in another direction. But I am absolutely going to be focusing on knitting for ME!

I'm in too. I have sooo many UFO that are for mememememe. I have been chugging along on them diligently the moment I finished the obligate Christmas knitting. (I still have one item to finish for DH, but he can wait...)

  24. Looks like blogger ate my post *G*.

Count me in. While gift and charity knitting continues apace (with the "Persimmon Bias Scarf" for the Red Scarf Project currently OTN), I do want to keep some of my work! The current two pairs of socks are MINE, darn it.

I also want to tackle a sweater this winter. Maybe two. For me, for the office.

I am all over this. I'm knitting the Cambridge Jacket (in the smallest size) from IK for myself, using yarn I reclaimed from a sweater I originally knit for my boyfriend, who is now my Ex. (The sweater wasn't particularly his style, so I unraveled it after a few years and was planning on knitting him a new one.) Sound convoluted? Maybe it is, but this is for ME now.

Count me in! :) As I was "inventory-ing" my 2006 knits I realized that the vast majority of them were indeed gifted. My current knit is staying with me! :)

Oh, me too! I was going to anyway. :-) But let's see...I'll commit to...to...a pair of socks. For MOI.

I'm glad I found you... I remember leaving you a comment on the Who Wouldn't Want a Handknitted Gift blog, but I don't remember seeing an anaswer, so I didn't even know where your blog was. Luckily, I was goofing around on my Typepad stats page and followed a link here.

Anyhow, the main project I want to make for me is the Anemoi mittens by Eunny Jang. There's more, and with having spotty mail delivery with all our snow storms I may have to do another one first, but that's the one I am just yearning to do.

    Oh, me too, please!

I'm going to make the Bejeweled scarf plus finish a couple of other things, all delightfully and selfishly for me.

This is such a good idea...why do I see it so late?! I planned 3 projects for myself: fingerless gloves, very nice socks with a lace pattern and the Bejeweled scarf. Since I planned that, I knitted too much gifts...not one for me. Time for a change! Can I still join? Please?
