Scattered

Almost like Random Wednesday, but on Monday today. Scattered Monday.

Mondays always seem scattered to me - rushing to get back into the work swing, get stuff done around the house, planning for the rest of the week, etc. So now you get it in the blog too.

Well, you would get it in the blog if freakin' blogger would upload the damn pictures. So imagine lovely photos here of the yarn for The Husband's hat, the status of the socks, the charity knitting stash and my cute kitty.

In the spirit of the sock knitting madness that has overtaken many of us, I give you this:

You like blue sock yarn. You are a fellow. You don't like bars, you prefer pubs.

What color of sock yarn do you prefer?

And finally, I need your opinions. We've got a wee one arriving in about a month (no, not us! The Husband's cousin!). They are not finding out the sex of the babee until it's arrival. What to knit? The Husband suggested something green. I'd like to try the umbillical cord hat from Stitch & Bitch, but would blue/green/yellow be too "boy-ee" to use in case it's a girl?

  1. I would consider those colors too boyee. Why not white? Great for a boy or a girl and will match anything and everything.

  2. We had lots of blue/green/yellow stuff for Daughter because we didn't know she was a girl until she was born. So I think it's appropriate. But if you're unsure, white, ivory, or a soft green would always be safe. Also, white and ivory go with everything.

  3. Knit a solid green hat, and then if it's a girl crochet a flower and pin it on. That way it will work either way. :) And also, that sock yarn quiz is dumb because it chooses whatever you pick as your favorite color. Just my 2 cents.

  4. Oh, I think you should award yourself a gold medal....your hat looks awesome!

And I second Miriam's brilliant comment...solid green and then modify after!

  5. I'm a big fan of rainbow when it comes to baby stuff, yet I've only gifted blankets. That way I get the pink, blue, yellow and green. Always works. I'm a big yellow fan too. Yellow and white would probably work, or yellow/white/green. Together they don't scream baby boy.
