Thoughts: Hmmmmmm. I have several. I think this will be my only pair of feather and fan socks. I just didn't enjoy as much as I have read that others have. I felt like I had to pay too much attention, which isn't something I mind, but I don't feel like I got a big enough payoff for the effort. The yarn is quite interesting. The tencel makes it shiny, and makes it a tiny bit difficult to work with. I was not enjoying the bamboo needles and the somewhat sticky yarn, so I finally, on the second sock, switched to metal needes, which made a world of difference, and enabled the socks to get finished much faster. I will be interested to see how the yarn wears as well.
Maybe not a big enough payoff but they are very nice....
ReplyDeleteAwww, sorry they weren't very fun to knit. They do look really pretty though!
ReplyDeleteThey were worth the effort...very pretty!
ReplyDeleteWow, I think those are lovely! I've never seen feather and fan socks before, but I really like the way it looks with the self-striping yarn.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I think socks are soooooo much easier to knit with metal needles. Personally, I don't know how anyone can knit with bamboo needles with such a tiny size.
Lovely work!
Very pretty! Too bad the knitting process wasn't all that it could be, but you have beautiful socks now :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry the process wasn't great, BUT the feather and fan with THAT yarn is perfect - they are beautiful socks!
ReplyDeleteWhat sort of payback were you expecting?! I think the F&F shows off the yarn wonderfully!
ReplyDeleteI think they are very pretty! I definitely understand about knits not being very enjoyable though.
ReplyDeleteThey look great! I have been looking for a feather and fan pattern to use with some Claudia's I got a while back. Do you think you would have liked them more if you'd had different yarn?
ReplyDeleteI think they look great!
