Finished Knits

I was able to finish up some knitting projects last week, and it feels good to have things off the needles!

Sycamore Vest

I knit this Sycamore Vest for a class sample. I like the edging on this one, and the yarn I used (Fiber Company) is so very very nice! Apologies for no modeled shot - not my size!

Citron Shawl

Citron was another class sample. Cute and easy, but man does that ruffled edging and bind off take FOR EVER!

Cabled Teddy Hat

And finally, one of hubby's good friends had a baby girl last week, and he requested a hat for her. He choose the pattern, and I knit it up. It came out super cute (and so tiny!). Mom loved it, and it's chilly this week, so I'm sure it's getting lots of use!

Folded: A finished sweater!

This summer I did the Camp Loopy challenge. In June and July I knit shawls. For August's challenge we had to knit something that took a certain amount of yarn (I can't remember!). I chose Folded, and used some lovely Dream in Color Smooshy.

Folded

I made my sleeves a bit longer, and greatly modified the neckline so it wasn't too large - I knit another round of decreases after I was to my size, and then did the short rows. I added 10 rows of ribbing and bound off fairly tightly. I think it could be a bit lower, but it works for me. I think it will fit much better if I can ever get rid of my postpartum belly!

I'm glad I chose to knit this sweater. Most of my sweaters are cardigans, which is great because I wear them all the time over long sleeve t-shirts and button downs in the fall and winter. But it's nice to have a slightly dressy pullover to wear to work and other nice occasions. I wore this with a black skirt to the ballet recently, and I was so happy to wear something I had made that didn't look handmade!

Camp Loopy

Every year The Loopy Ewe holds Camp Loopy in the summer. I've never participated before, but a friend sort of challenged me to. As if I didn't have enough already going on! The first challenge was to knit something with a yarn you've never used before. With the variety of yarn they carry, that wasnt difficult!

multnomah

I knit Multnomah for my first project. I should add that I decided to do this on June 14th, received my yarn on the 17th, and had a baby the 19th! Good thing it is mostly garter stitch!

For July we had to knit a popular pattern. I chose Happy Street. It took FOREVER.

I'm knitting Folded for project 3 and I can't wait to get started!

November classes at MadTosh

I wanted to let you all know that there are new classes scheduled at MadTosh this month! I am so excited to be teaching three of them!

First up is a finishing class - we will discuss a variety of finishing techniques, including grafting, mattress stitch, three needle bind off, blocking, weaving in ends and button bands!

We've also scheduled some classes for quick simple projects - these make great holiday gifts!

One is a fingerless gloves class.

Welted Fingerless Gloves

The pattern is Welted Fingerless Gloves and these only use one skein of dk weight yarn! I used Manos silk and wool blend and it was delightful! These knit up super fast, and are very nice and warm!

French Press Felted Slippers

My other class is on the French Press Felted Slippers. These are super cute and great for the women in your life! I knit the smallest size and could easily have gotten two large pairs out of three skeins of Cascade 220! And I loved picking out the buttons for them! These could come together in an evening - super dooper quick!

Call the shop to sign up for classes!
